Today was the first summer day of spring. It's still above 80 at 6 p.m. I think it hit 86 this afternoon. Was driving around with the top down for a while today -- much fun. Going to see the family and the new guy next weekend, hope it's as nice then.
Planted grass today. In the same place I planted it last year. There are four huge trees in the front yard with what used to be a garden at their feet. I don't do gardens so last spring I pulled everything that was left and planted grass. It grew beautifully for three weeks. Then for reasons I don't understand (neither of my thumbs are green), it all died. In one day. We'll see how it goes this year. Actually, one of my thumbs is kind of green because after I'd planted the grass and raked it under, I covered the whole area with grass clippings from the back yard. Since Home Depot doesn't sell a spreader for fresh cut grass clippings I had to use my hand and it turned the whole thing green.
Ah yes, the cone. Mom and Tom are visiting tomorrow so I'm cleaning the house. Just got done vacuuming and I wanted everyone (or at least the two or three people who might see this post) to see what the vacuum cleaner does to all the dirt (mostly dog hair.) It spins it up into a neat little cone. Isn't that cool?
OK, I've got three pounds of Tri Tip Sirloin that's just about ready to go on the grill. Yum!

It must be a family tradition to clean the house at the last minute...just ask a certain sister of yours.
Don't worry, I'm cleaning mine tommorrow...
Ha! They're going to be here in an hour and I'm still cleaning.
